WebSmith Seeks Deal with Far Eastern
Companies
After 12 days and 3
cities in Japan, Ian Harvie has returned to Portland having brokered several promising business deals with
companies in Sendai, Tokyo and Chiba, Japan.
Ian
was invited by the Japan External Trade Organization last December to
present her company's services in February of 2001 to businesses
throughout the far eastern country.
"This technology forum was not like
any trade show I had been to. The companies from Japan that were there scheduled meeting
times to talk one-on-one with me about WebSmith's services and what their needs were.
These people were serious about doing business."
- Ian Harvie
Minoru Hirata, President of Communication Design Lab, Inc. (CDL) located in Sendai,
Japan, has asked Portland WebSmith to build a second company web site in
English to begin
their relationship. Once there has been a relationship developed from the first
development project, Hirata has asked that Portland WebSmith build
English web sites for
his CDL's clients. Katsufumi Imai, Manager of Business Network Division of CDL is
orchestrating the deal with WebSmith.
"It should be only a couple weeks to a
month before we start production with CDL. We are overwhelmed by our own excitement,
this trip has created amazing opportunities." - Ian Harvie
